Crumplemeyer's Book Bin is a book store on Morrow's Inlet's Cliffside, where Bella works.
Description[]
At the front of the store there's a desk, usually staffed by Bella. At the back is a room full of books and stairs leading down.
The stairs are also home to more piles of books and lead down to a large room, similarly stuffed with books. Further in is a long narrow room, dust hanging in the air, full of bookshelves and piles of books. There's a few low burning lamps in the wall. Under a rug is a hatch leading to the water pipe tunnels that run underneath Morrow's Inlet.
The books in the store are laid out in such a way that it's not apparent how they're organised. Eric says "There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason for the way these books are arranged in this room." Later Bella reveals that "It's all in here," and taps the side of her head. While browsing, the following books are picked up at random:
- A book about foraging mushrooms in the coastal regions of Tapperdown
- A book written in Abyssal, featuring grand, epic illustrations of fighting and people in tombs
- The Perfect Perceptions of the Dwarven Lexicon
- Theories on the Souls of the Tooth: The Lore of Beasts
- Splendid Soups: The Cuisine of the Sea
- White Prize (a play script)
The book bin was also where the party discovered the locked book with gnomish symbols engraved on the lock, which later magically transported Dew away to parts unknown.[1]
